Here's my entry for the 17th birthday challenge Happy birthday Deviantart
It's a scene from the Norwegan play "Peer Gynt" (Act 2 scene 6 to be exact) written by Henrik Ibsen.
Inspired by the illustration by Arthur Rackham : 64.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lvr…
The music by Edvard Grieg : www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qAc4q…
(The troll-courtiers): Slay him! The Christian man's son has seduced the fairest maid of the Mountain King! Slay him! Slay him!
(a troll-imp): May I hack him on the fingers?
(another troll-imp): May I tug him by the hair?
(a troll-maiden): Hu, hey, let me bite him in the haunches!
(a troll-witch with a ladle): Shall he be boiled into broth and bree to me
(another troll-witch, with a butcher knife): Shall he roast on a spit or be browned in a stewpan?
(the Mountain King): Ice to your blood, friends!
It was really fun to do I hope you like it

Woahh! I've missed it! I have tons of notification from people I watch and somtimes I get a bit lost.
this is brilliant!
I really find the composition interesting and original! The hand-ears are creepy, but jet a clever way to use the template!
It was not easy to turn the template into something original: it suggested quite explicitly to draw a girl, her hands and random butterflies. Your interpretation is kind of unique! Nobody turned the "girly face's profile" into a bold guy, who is indeed into an uncomfortable situation.
I like the atmosphere here! It reminds me of Labyrinth, the movie with David Bowie. It gives the same creepy but yet fairy-tale feeling.
I didn't know this play, but surely will take a look at it!Thanks for sharing! *o*
